Sumitomo Chemical Advanced Technologies (SCAT) was founded in 2003 as Sumika Electronic Materials, Inc., a subsidiary of Sumitomo Chemical, Ltd. Originally serving U.S. electronics, semiconductor, energy, and IT industries, the company adopted its current name in 2017.

SCAT manufactures custom epitaxial wafers using proprietary Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition processes and grinds engineering plastic resins for aerospace. Other products include photoresist, high-purity wet chemicals, polarizing film, optical sheet, polymer LED and OLED displays, battery separators, and alumina. SCAT also supplies specialty resins, including LCP, PES, resorcinol, and Penacolite®, and holds multiple ISO and safety certifications.
